Dame Dash Tells Jay-Z Not to Call Him for the Super Bowl, While Lil Jon Says He'd Have Booked Himself Too

Hov's halftime gig has his old Roc-A-Fella partner saying no thanks, and the man who ran Usher's show saying it's a smart move.

Jay-Z's 2027 Super Bowl halftime show is still months away, and it is already splitting the culture. Dame Dash made it clear he wants no part of it, while Lil Jon says Hov did exactly what he would have done.

Speaking with The Art of Dialogue, Dash said he would turn down any invite to join his former Roc-A-Fella partner on stage. "I'm not going. Don't even call me for the Super Bowl," he said, per HotNewHipHop. Dame added that he has "no desire" to be part of it.

He also took a shot at the reported game plan. According to HNHH, Dash said Beyonce is basically a lock as a guest, then questioned how many times Jay can lean on her. He pointed to Dr. Dre's 2022 halftime, where Dre brought his whole crew, and suggested Hov going out there without his original team might not land. He also reportedly compared the energy at Kanye West's recent stadium shows to Jay's, claiming Ye is pulling bigger reactions without corporate backing.

Lil Jon sees it the opposite way. On SiriusXM's Andy Cohen Live, the Atlanta legend said he's happy for Jay-Z, who helped shape halftime bookings through Roc Nation's partnership with the NFL before landing the spot himself. "Honestly, I probably would have done the same thing," Lil Jon said, according to AllHipHop. "I'm not mad at him at all." He predicted Hov will bring out plenty of special guests and said Jay has been testing out possible pairings at his shows this year.

Lil Jon knows the stage well. He was musical director and a performer for Usher's 2024 halftime show. Jay-Z headlines Super Bowl LXI on Feb. 14, 2027, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.
