Cam'ron Claims Another Cameron Giles Has Been Collecting His Publishing Checks for Years

Cam'ron just dropped one of the strangest music-business horror stories of the year. The Harlem legend says a different man with his exact legal name, Cameron Giles, has been getting paid off his publishing, according to HotNewHipHop.

Speaking on a recent episode of Talk With Flee, Cam reportedly explained that the other Cameron Giles is a musician based in Australia who is also registered with BMI. Per HNHH, the overlap caused a mix-up at the publishing level, and checks meant for Killa allegedly ended up going to the other guy instead.

The wild part is how calm Cam sounded about it. He reportedly said he doesn't think the Australian Giles did anything shady on purpose. The bad news, per Cam, is that he believes the statute of limitations has already run out, which means the money that went to the wrong Cameron is likely lost.

Cam didn't put a dollar figure on it, and BMI has not publicly commented on the claim. But for an artist with a catalog as deep as Cam'ron's, from the Diplomats era to Purple Haze, even a few years of misrouted royalties could add up fast.
