Latto on Hot Ones: Haters Put 'a Battery in My Back,' and She Still Does Features for Free
Big Latto took on the wings, defended her gumbo and admitted she might need to start charging for verses now that she has a baby to feed.

Latto finally sat down with Sean Evans, and she came to talk. In her first Hot Ones episode, which dropped Thursday, the Atlanta rapper explained that criticism doesn't slow her down at all. It does the opposite, according to Billboard.
"On my momma, that turns me up," she said, per Billboard. She went on to thank the doubters for putting "that battery in my back," saying hate gives her a vendetta and something to prove.

That energy reportedly extends to her Soul Food Sunday cooking videos. Latto said people went in on her gumbo, but she's confident anybody who actually tastes her food will know she can cook.
The bigger reveal for rap fans was about features. Latto said she treats guest verses as a favor and usually doesn't charge, because if she likes the song and the artist, she just wants to rap on it. She joked that other artists definitely charge her, though, and said she's been rethinking the free-verse policy now that she has a baby to feed.

Latto welcomed her first child with 21 Savage earlier this year and had talked about stepping away after her Big Mama album, but Billboard notes she has walked back any retirement plans. Big Mama debuted at No. 16 on the Billboard 200 in May.
Should Latto start charging for features?
