Mary J. Blige Reportedly Partners With Primary Wave on Her Catalog

The Queen of Hip-Hop Soul is making a power move with her music. Mary J. Blige has partnered with Primary Wave Music on her compositions and recordings, according to Primary Wave, Billboard and Variety. The deal reportedly covers classics like "Family Affair," "My Life," "Mary Jane (All Night Long)" and "Be Happy."

Primary Wave will reportedly work with Mary and her team on marketing, branding, digital and sync opportunities, meaning more of her records could show up in movies, shows and commercials. Financial terms were not disclosed.

More than three decades after "What's the 411?", her songs are still the soundtrack for cookouts, breakups and Sunday cleanups. Catalog deals have become a major payday for legacy artists, and Mary reportedly joins a list of icons who have partnered with the company.
