Judge Permanently Tosses RBX's Lawsuit Claiming Spotify Ignored Bot Streams for Drake
RBX's case against Spotify is done, at least at this level.

RBX's case against Spotify is done, at least at this level. Federal Judge Josephine Staton dismissed the Death Row vet's proposed class action with prejudice on Oct. 23, meaning he cannot refile the same claims, according to Music Business Worldwide and Rolling Stone.
The suit claimed Spotify let bots inflate Drake's streams at the expense of other rights holders. The judge did not rule on whether any Drake numbers were real or fake. She found that even if every allegation were true, the complaint did not state a valid legal claim, and that rewriting it again would be futile.

Drake was never a defendant and has denied any involvement in streaming manipulation. One of RBX's lawyers told Rolling Stone an appeal is likely, which would send it to the Ninth Circuit.
