Keanu Reeves Reportedly Replaces Alan Ritchson in Netflix's 'Maelstrom'
John Wick is heading into the storm.

John Wick is heading into the storm. Keanu Reeves is set to star in "Maelstrom," a Netflix action movie from "Carry-On" director Jaume Collet-Serra, taking over the lead from "Reacher" star Alan Ritchson, according to Deadline and Variety. Page Six Hollywood reportedly broke the casting first.
Ritchson reportedly exited for undisclosed reasons, and Netflix declined to comment, per Deadline. The story follows a federal marshal protecting the fiancee of an arms dealer turned witness through one brutal night, as a hurricane cuts off communication and the dealer's men close in on their safe house.

The script has a wild history. It was reportedly first sold to Warner Bros. as a spec in 1993 and pitched back then as "Die Hard" in a hurricane. Variety reports it is the first project under producer Jeff Robinov's new Netflix deal.
Keanu in a one-night survival thriller sounds like a lock. Better fit than Ritchson?
