Kirk Franklin Reportedly Defends GloRilla From Church Critics Who Say She's Not 'Holy Enough'

Kirk Franklin is riding for GloRilla. On Tuesday's episode of Big Boy's Neighborhood, the gospel legend reportedly said it has been breaking his heart to watch some religious folks claim Glo is not holy or churchy enough to be on a gospel record with him, according to Complex.

The pushback centers on their song "This Time." Franklin reportedly said Glo told him the judgment about her image bothered her, and he pointed out that she is already a big star who does not need a gospel record for a check.

Franklin, who has worked with rappers for years, reportedly said people who spend decades policing who gets to talk about Jesus must be miserable. He and Glo already won a 2025 BET Award for "Rain Down On Me."
