The Fresh rollout is on, and WHAM says the A keeps its problems in person because public beef makes the whole city look bad.

Lil Baby isn't about to turn Atlanta's issues into a timeline war.

Sitting down with Jon Caramanica and Joe Coscarelli on The New York Times' Popcast ahead of his new album Fresh, which is due Nov. 6, the Atlanta star explained why the city's rappers tend to keep their problems out of public view. In his words, artists from the A can dislike each other and still "play cool for y'all," calling it "an unspoken thing."

He said he's noticed more rappers going at each other online lately, and made it clear that's not how he moves. "We got a problem? We can handle our problem off the internet, in person, just us," he said, per XXL's clip of the conversation.

His reasoning goes back to the city. Baby said he and the artists he has issues with are the ones holding it down for Atlanta, so trading shots in public, no matter who wins, ends up making everybody look bad.

The comments landed while Gunna's name was on the table. The two former Drip Harder partners have been distant since Gunna's 2022 plea in the YSL case, and Baby said publicly in 2024 that they no longer had a relationship. Nothing on Popcast suggests a reunion is coming. He just isn't putting it on the internet.

Fresh, led by the Pharrell-produced single "Dead Fresh," is set to drop Nov. 6.
