India Love Says She Won't Celebrate Halloween Because Her Mom Calls It 'The Devil's Holiday'
The influencer said she likes the idea of dressing up, but in her family the answer has always been no.
India Love is sitting this Halloween out, and every one after it.
In a short video that started making the rounds on Halloween morning, the influencer and model told followers she will not be "participating in Halloween this year or any year." The reason is family. Her mother never allowed it growing up, and India said that rule still stands for her.
She was clear that it is not about the costumes. India admitted she actually likes the concept of dressing up and becoming characters, but said her mom's position is that Halloween "is the devil's holiday," so her answer is a no. She called it "just a family thing."
The video follows a livestream moment earlier in the week, when viewers in her chat pushed her to do a Halloween cosplay like streamer Yonna Jay. Clips of that exchange were framed online as India implying that people who dress up are worshipping the devil, which drew a laughing reaction from Yonna and plenty of debate. Her latest comments frame it as a personal and family choice rather than a shot at anyone, though she has not addressed the Yonna back-and-forth directly.
She hinted she might find a way to dress up after the holiday instead. Or maybe not.
