Meagan Good Says 50 Cent's '21 Questions' Video Saved Her From Kid Roles, Then Got Her Typecast for a Decade
She took the video on purpose to show Hollywood she had grown up. It worked so well that casting directors later called her 'too sexy' for serious parts.

"It worked so well that every role basically that I got for the next decade was the pretty girl, the love interest, the girl next door." That was Meagan Good on The Crew Has It on Tuesday (Nov. 3), looking back at the 50 Cent video that changed her career, per Complex.
Good was about 19 and still getting cast as 14- and 15-year-olds after Cousin Skeeter and Eve's Bayou. So in 2003 she took the love-interest role in Fif's "21 Questions" video, even with pushback from her manager. "I knew that this could be a national commercial of showing people she's arrived as a young woman," she said.
"Too sexy"
"And I knew that it would change people's perspective of me and they would see me in a different light. And so that's exactly what it did," she said. The catch: she says casting directors later passed on her for serious roles because they considered her "too sexy." "Maybe it's something I'm giving off," she joked.
"21 Questions" went on to become 50's second No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Good, now 45, has since led Harlem, Divorce in the Black and Hulu's Reasonable Doubt, where she plays lawyer Regina Harris in Season 4.
