Nearly $200 million in NBA salary, and the Truth says the money is tight. Paul Pierce's lawyer told a court the Celtics legend is "drowning financially" after his Fox Sports deal ended, according to filings obtained by TMZ and PEOPLE.

Per the documents, Pierce says his last Fox check landed in August and that his average monthly income dropped from about $119,000 to basically nothing, with roughly $23,000 coming in last month from other business interests. He reportedly lists about $28,000 a month in child support and $20,000 in spousal support, plus around $48,000 in monthly bills, a budget TMZ says includes $7,000 a month for eating out.

The filing is part of his custody fight with ex-girlfriend Princess Santiago, the mother of his son King. Pierce is reportedly pushing back on her request for another $40,000 in legal fees and $10,000 for a forensic accountant, according to TMZ. He reportedly still has about $300,000 in the bank and $3 million in property.

A rep for Pierce did not immediately respond to PEOPLE's request for comment.
