Rick Ross Reportedly Cleared of Felony Strangulation Charge, but Two Misdemeanors Remain
Prosecutors reportedly cited insufficient evidence on the top count in his Miami domestic case.

The biggest charge hanging over Rick Ross is gone. Miami prosecutors have reportedly dropped the felony battery by strangulation count in his domestic violence case, TMZ reports.
According to new court documents obtained by the outlet, prosecutors cited insufficient evidence on the felony and instead filed two misdemeanors: one count of battery and one count of battery/domestic violence. Ross had previously pleaded not guilty to the felony strangulation charge and a misdemeanor battery charge.

The case stems from an incident earlier this month, when an ex-girlfriend told police Ross slapped, hit and choked her, and allegedly grabbed her by the ponytail and slammed her into a wall. Ross turned himself in, and after bonding out he called the allegations fabricated and told reporters he was headed to Dubai, Paris and a plate of rigatoni. His attorney has called the accusations categorically false.
The misdemeanors are still pending, so Rozay isn't fully in the clear yet. But on paper, this is a big win for his side.
