Yella Beezy Trial: His Childhood Friend Takes the Stand and Pleads the Fifth Over and Over
Prosecutors wanted to ask about his grand jury testimony. He wouldn't answer a single question.

A witness prosecutors were counting on in the Yella Beezy murder-for-hire trial went silent on the stand Thursday.
Theodore Thomas, a childhood friend of Beezy's who raps as Jose Bodega, repeatedly invoked his Fifth Amendment right in a Dallas courtroom, XXL reports. Prosecutors say Thomas testified before the grand jury that indicted Beezy, born Markies Conway, and they tried to walk him through a 140-page transcript of that testimony.
He wouldn't budge. Thomas reportedly declined to answer questions about Beezy's Get Rich Cartel crew, the long-running feud between Beezy and Trapboy Freddy, and where he and Beezy were in California in November 2020, around the time MO3 was killed. "I'm going to plead the Fifth to that," he said, per XXL. When the defense asked if he wanted to take back any of his earlier statements, he pleaded the Fifth again.
Judge Chika Anyiam excused him but warned he could be called back, and told him to return to court Friday.

Beezy is accused of hiring Kewon White to kill MO3, born Melvin Noble, in the November 2020 ambush on Interstate 35. White was convicted of murder and sentenced to life in September. Beezy has pleaded not guilty, and the trial is expected to run about two weeks.
