Gervonta Davis Threatens to 'Put Papoose to Sleep' After Pap Defends Claressa Shields

"@papoose I would put you to sleep..now try what you did with old body with me..I bet they picking you up! Corny no lol." That was Gervonta Davis in a since-deleted Instagram Story, per 103.9 WDKX, and the Tank vs. Pap beef is officially a thing.

It started small. Claressa Shields held a listening event in Atlanta on Monday (Nov. 2) for her debut album, and Davis reposted footage of her red-carpet look with a simple review: "You look a hot ass mess," according to HotNewHipHop. Shields hit back by promoting her single and taking a shot at the domestic violence allegations Davis has faced, which he has disputed.

Papoose goes to the Roach tape

Then her man stepped in. Papoose skipped the fashion debate and went straight for the most controversial night of Davis' career, his March 2025 majority draw with Lamont Roach Jr., when Tank took a knee in the ninth and blamed hair grease in his eyes. "Roach was getting off on that n***a," Pap wrote on his Story, per HotNewHipHop, and he mocked the grease excuse too.

Face to face?

The two reportedly floated meeting in person to settle it. As of Thursday morning, Papoose had not answered Davis' latest threat directly, and nothing has been booked, in or out of a ring. Shields, meanwhile, says she is still an undefeated active champion, and she wants everybody to remember that part.
