Yung Miami Says She 'Didn't Even Know the Group Was Broken Up' in City Girls Split

In a sneak peek from The Jason Lee Show, Caresha says the end of City Girls caught her off guard, and she is not trying to relive it.

"I didn't even know the group was broken up." That is Yung Miami, in her own words, on how the City Girls split landed on her. The line comes from a sneak peek of her sit-down on The Jason Lee Show, which BET posted to X on Tuesday, Nov. 3.

BET framed the clip as Caresha "feeling blindsided" by the split. In the short preview, she does not sound like someone itching to reopen the wound. "I don't really care to get into it because it's over with," she tells Jason Lee early on, adding that she is not the one who wants to keep talking about it.

Jason Lee pushed anyway

Lee, being Lee, did not let it go that easy. He asked how the duo actually ended things, joking about whether there was a dramatic exit message or a fight. That is when Miami dropped the line that is now making the rounds: she did not even know the group was done. "There was a lot happening, a lot going on," she says in the clip. "I was just like, okay."

By the end of the preview, Lee flips the tone and tells her he is happy for her as a solo act. What exactly happened behind the scenes, and whether JT sees it the same way, is not answered in the clip. JT had not publicly responded to the sneak peek as of this writing.

BET says "there's more to the story." The full episode premieres Wednesday, Nov. 4, at 2 p.m. ET on BET's YouTube channel. Miami has talked about the split before, saying losing JT felt like one of several breakups hitting her at once, but this is the first time she has put it this bluntly: she says she found out the group was over without ever being part of a sit-down about it. Rich Motion has not independently confirmed how or when the split was decided.
