Buckley walked up on the UFC middleweight champ in person about his language. Strickland's reply came online, with old gym footage of Buckley hitting the mat.

"Don't call people the n-word, bro. It's offensive." That was Joaquin Buckley, face to face with Sean Strickland, in a video that hit timelines Wednesday (Nov. 4), per Daily Loud.

The UFC welterweight had already been calling out Strickland and Dustin Poirier over their use of a racial slur. When fans asked why he wasn't saying it to Strickland directly, Buckley posted the clip of himself and an associate approaching the middleweight champion, according to Sherdog. The conversation stayed mostly civil. Strickland kept his cool and, by several accounts, even offered to help Buckley with his wrestling in Las Vegas.

Strickland goes to the tape

Then the champ answered the only way Sean Strickland knows how. He reportedly posted a short, grainy sparring clip that appears to show Buckley charging in and getting dropped by a counter. "Sit down Buckley," Strickland captioned it, per Bloody Elbow.

He didn't stop there. "I will say this with all sincerity, I feel bad watching the fall of Buckley," Strickland added in the comments, according to MMA Scene. "I told you this before and I'll tell you this again if you can drop this bs act youve been playing and move to Vegas I will teach you how to fight."

Buckley: "Now do it again"

It is not clear when that sparring session happened. Buckley did confirm he was the fighter on the canvas, firing back, "Love it. #NowDoItAgain." Strickland passed, suggesting Buckley, who was knocked out by Mike Malott last month, take a break instead. "Bro I think your brain needs a little CTE break," he wrote, per Bloody Elbow.

Poirier got his shots in too. "Tryna get some views? Shut up or kill me!" he wrote, per Sherdog. Buckley responded that the comment "did what it needed to do" and repeated his challenge to talk it out in person. As of Wednesday night, neither fighter has announced plans to settle any of it inside the Octagon.
