Chucky's creator clapped back, Jasmine Crockett called her out, and then a process server showed up at her building.

"Trump is STILL your PRESIDENT." That was line one of the list Nicki Minaj posted to X on Wednesday (Nov. 4), a day after Democrats took back both the House and the Senate in the midterms, per Billboard. She did not stop there. "The QUEEN is STILL your OBSESSION," she wrote. "Jesus is STILL LORD ... The BARBZ are STILL PRETTY!!! ... Stay tuned & STAY MAD."

The post landed after a fall spent on the campaign trail. Minaj joined Donald Trump at a rally in Port Huron, Michigan on Oct. 25, and on Election Day she posted an AI-generated image of Chucky in a suit wearing a "Vote Red" pin. According to Billboard, her post-election list also praised JD Vance's take on the losses and congratulated Florida Republicans Anna Paulina Luna and Byron Donalds on their wins. "Maybe now our people will WAKE UP," she added.

Chucky's creator was not having it

The Chucky post is where the smoke started. Child's Play creator Don Mancini went straight at her on X, per Complex. "IMPOSTER. CHUCKY IS PART OF THE BLUE WAVE THAT WILL WASH AWAY ALL THE CORRUPTION," he wrote. He followed up with a photo of a real Chucky doll wearing an "I Voted" sticker: "Chucky has a trans kid. Chucky protects the dolls. Chucky is anti-ICE." Then came a doll with blue streaks in its hair and a final jab: "Too bad, Nicki! No AI, by the way!"

That one stings a little extra because Minaj has claimed Chucky for years, going all the way back to her "Monster" verse. Now the man who made the doll is publicly telling her it was never on her side.

She was already catching heat from Capitol Hill too. Rep. Jasmine Crockett told TMZ in New York on Election Day that Minaj, who was born in Trinidad and is not a U.S. citizen, has been acting as a megaphone for the administration while other immigrants are being detained by ICE. Crockett accused her of being only out for herself and of sowing division. Minaj has not responded to Crockett directly, as far as we could find.

Then her lawyers asked to walk

While the timeline argued politics, the paperwork kept moving. TMZ reported Thursday that the law firm Kurzman Eisenberg Corbin & Lever wants a judge's permission to stop representing Minaj and her company, Pink Friday Productions, in a lawsuit from 24/7 Productions. The firm cited "irreconcilable differences" and a breakdown in communication. Per the filing, the firm even had trouble getting her served: a process server reportedly went to the building where she lives in a $10 million penthouse, and the concierge allegedly said she was not home, her husband was, and the couple had a "tendency of not answering their phones."

The money at stake is real. 24/7 Productions, the company tied to iHeartRadio Jingle Ball, sued in March seeking $275,149.62 plus interest, saying it fronted more than $255,000 in costs around the December 2023 Jingle Ball dates and the New York promo run for Pink Friday 2, according to AllHipHop. That reportedly includes a Langham New York bill of $103,730 featuring a $9,500-a-night suite for seven nights. Minaj's side disputes the debt. In a July 31 filing, her team said the costs were approved and that Pink Friday Productions already paid, and argued she is not personally on the hook for the company's bills. None of the claims have been proven in court.

What happens next

Judge Leslie A. Stroth has paused the case. Answering papers on the withdrawal request are due Nov. 12, replies are due Nov. 23, and the hearing is set for Dec. 1 in Manhattan. If the firm is let go, the stay runs another 30 days so Minaj can find new lawyers. She had not publicly addressed the filing as of Thursday afternoon. So far, her only message for the whole week has been the one she already posted: stay mad.
