Wiz Khalifa Gets His Romanian Prison Sentence Wiped Out, but the Weed Case Isn't Over
A Bucharest court tossed the nine-month sentence and the warrant that came with it. Prosecutors still get another shot next week.

The court "cancels the prison sentence enforcement warrant." That one line from a Bucharest Court of Appeal order, translated from Romanian, took Wiz Khalifa off the hook for nine months behind bars on Tuesday (Nov. 3), per AllHipHop.
The judges also struck down the December 2025 decision that turned a small cannabis case into prison time, Romania Times reported. That ruling had led to a warrant, and by May Wiz was reportedly on a wanted list, which made any European tour stop a risk.
How it got here
It goes back to the Beach, Please! festival in Costinesti in July 2024, where prosecutors said Wiz had 18.53 grams of cannabis and smoked onstage. A trial court fined him 3,600 lei. Prosecutors from Romania's anti-organized crime unit, DIICOT, appealed, and a Constanta court swapped the fine for nine months.
Round two on Nov. 12
This is not an acquittal. The Bucharest court will rehear DIICOT's appeal of the original fine on Nov. 12, and it ordered arrangements for Wiz to appear by videoconference. Prosecutors have not dropped the case, so the next ruling decides whether Taylor Gang's leader walks away with a fine or something worse.
