"I told you I lied already, so asking me questions from a paper, it's like you making me re-lie." That was Theodore Thomas, the rapper known as Jose Bodega, on the stand Monday, Nov. 2, in Yella Beezy's murder-for-hire trial in Dallas, per WFAA. As XXL reported, Beezy's childhood friend told jurors he lied to the grand jury and that the feud between Beezy and Mo3 was something he made up.

Asked about his grand jury claims of a running beef, Thomas said flatly, "I made it up," according to FOX 4.

The $40,000 question

Prosecutors walked Thomas through his February 2025 grand jury transcript, where he had said gunman Kewon White was paid $40,000 for the hit and that the money came from Beezy and Trapboy Freddy. "That was a lie," Thomas said. Asked why he cried during that grand jury session, he answered: "Because I was lying."

Thomas had pleaded the Fifth to every question last week. He returned this week under an immunity grant and was treated as a hostile witness, per CBS Texas. On redirect, the defense got him to agree that he had been facing threats of RICO and VICAR charges and a possible life sentence when he first talked, and that he fabricated details to get into a federal diversion program, according to Rap Griot.

Prosecutors are not buying it

Prosecutor Tommy Adams hit back hard, pointing out that Thomas stood by his story for more than 18 months, even after his own federal drug and gun charges were dropped, and only recanted to his attorney right before White's trial. The state suggested loyalty is behind the turnaround, showing jurors photos of Thomas and Beezy together from high school to private jet trips. Judge Chika Anyiam told jurors the old grand jury statements can only be used to weigh Thomas's credibility, not as proof of Beezy's guilt, per AllHipHop.

Mo3, born Melvin Noble, was shot and killed on Interstate 35E in Dallas on Nov. 11, 2020. White was convicted of capital murder in September and sentenced to life. Beezy, born Markies Conway, has pleaded not guilty and denies any involvement. The trial was set to resume Tuesday, Nov. 3.
