Maino Names 50 Cent as a Rapper Who 'Went Bad,' and Joe Budden Isn't Having It

A Let's Rap About It debate about aging MCs turned into another round of the show's long-running issues with Fif.

The Let's Rap About It crew found another way to bring up 50 Cent.

On episode 53 of the podcast, with Joe Budden in the building as a guest, the conversation started with Budden saying that if he picked the pen back up, he doesn't think he'd be far from where he was. Fabolous argued that lyricists can get better with age, but added that not everybody does, and that rappers who lose the passion "go bad."

When Budden asked for an example of someone who was nice and fell off, Maino was the first to answer: 50 Cent. Jim Jones let out a "damn," and Maino quickly followed with a line about how he should probably stop talking, according to Complex.

Budden didn't go along with it. He said he doesn't think 50 went bad at all, and that if Fif got back in the studio he could still knock out "four theme songs," a nod to his TV run. Maino jokingly told the team to cut Budden's mic. Per HotNewHipHop, Maino also insisted the show's beef with 50 had nothing to do with his take, saying, "I love 50 Cent."

That beef is real, though. Complex notes that 50 called the hosts "squatters" last December, claiming they owed $250,000 for their filming space, and Maino fired back online. The crew has also criticized 50's role on the Netflix Diddy docuseries, HNHH reported. 50 Cent has not publicly responded to the latest comments.
